What is ASA?

(ASA) Aspiring Supervisors & Administrators

ADASA is committed to supporting aspiring supervisors and administrators that seek to serve within the NYC Department of Education. During the 2017-19 term, the first ASA Cohort was established with the purpose of offering more professional development and networking opportunities to Dominican-American educators that possess School Building or District Leader Certificates, and are not serving in these licenses. Additionally, ADASA seeks to extend this purpose by coordinating with other organizations and associations that similarly serve underrepresented groups of educators. Our goal is to establish a sustainable pipeline that equips, trains, and supports our aspiring leaders from the moment they each decide to pursue the path of educational leadership and every step beyond.

Highlight and Celebration

For the first ASA Cohort, 50% of them were able to secure administrator positions within a year of being part of this collective work. We seek to build upon this success and continue to expand our supports with the past, current, and future cohorts.
